Managed Device Program

Bayou Academy operates a Managed Device program for many of our grade levels.  Each student receives an iPad to use as a student at Bayou Academy.  These are purchased or leased through Bayou Academy.  For the 2024-25 academic year, students entering Grades 5th through 8th Grade are required to be in our managed Program.
 
This program was created with the goal to dedicate our students computers to the learning goals established in our mission statement.  The student's device being under Bayou Academy management means that every student's device is always up to date and always ready for the academic day so long as it is charged and maintains an internet connection.

For students entering 5th - 12th grades in the 2025-2026 school year, the iPad Purchase Program is no longer offered—students will only have the option to Lease.  If you have already purchased an iPad through this program, there will be no interruption of service and you may continue using that device.  Should a new device be needed in the future, you will be required to participate in the Lease Program.

Students entering the 9th grade will be able to upgrade to the iPad Pro 12.9.  This offers a larger screen, touchpad, and more processing power.  Here is our road map for the coming years.
 
2024-25 1st - 4th graders will use classroom iPads
               5th - 8th graders will have individually assigned iPads
               9th graders will have individually assigned iPads or iPad Pros
               10th and 11th graders will have individually assigned iPad Pros
 
2025-26 1st - 4th graders will use classroom iPads
               5th - 8th graders will have individually assigned iPads
               9th graders will have individually assigned iPads or iPad Pros
               10th - 12th graders will have individually assigned iPad Pros
FAQ:
  • Are all students in the managed device program?
    • As of the 2024-25 school year only 5th through 11th grade are in the managed device program.
 
  • Which devices are available?  
    • Bayou Academy offers 9th generation iPad for students entering 5th grade through 9th Grade, iPad Pro 12.9 for students entering 9th through 12th grade. 
 
  • Can we bring our own device?
    • No, the devices are registered with Bayou Academy through our relationship with Apple.  This can only be done if devices are purchased directly by the school.  
 
  • Who is responsible for fixing hardware?
    • Bayou Academy has a direct account with apple and will work with apple to make sure that devices are repaired and/or replaced in a timely manner, usually that same day.
 
  • What is included in the program?
    • Hardware: iPads and iPad Pros come with an Apple Pencil, Charger, Keyboard Combo Case, Apple Care + for 3 years with purchase or each current year for lease. 
  • Are students issued the same device each year?
    • Yes, unless there is a need to repair or replace then your student will keep their same device for each year until they are upgraded.
