Week of March 30th

Announcements

  • *All athletic and extracurricular events are cancelled for this week.*
  • Weight room and athletic fields are closed.
  • We are operating under limited office hours.  Please call the office before coming to the school to make sure someone is there.  If you need assistance, we recommend you e-mail [email protected] and someone will get back with you promptly.
  • We will be operating under Distance Learning Protocols through April 17th.  We will let you know of any changes to that date as soon as possible.
  • If you have not already downloaded Zoom, please do so!  Teachers & students will be using this for most classes.  Please see the "student announcement" below!
  • School Procedures:
    • K3 - 3rd - We are using "packets" that are prepared weekly.  There are plastic drawers outside the elementary building where you can drop off and pick up.  Please use your REMIND texts & e-mails to continue communicating with your teachers.
    • 4th - 6th - We will be using Canvas & your Microsoft E-mail.  Teachers will mainly be communicating with the student directly through these tools.  Canvas is new to these students, so please help them learn how to look around and find their assignments.  We recommend using a planner or making a daily list of assignments. *IF ANYONE IN GRADES 4-6 ONLY HAVE PHONE ACCESS TO COMPLETE THEIR CANVAS ASSIGNMENTS, PLEASE CONTACT MR. AYCOCK.*
    • 7th - 12th - Canvas will be our main tool.  Your teacher will communicate any other directions to you.  Be sure to check your school e-mail and Canvas DAILY.  Zoom calls will likely be used to have class.
You can use THIS LINK to get to your logins easily.

1.  Be SURE to check Canvas!  There are a handful of students who have not communicated with their teachers.  We are still having school.  We are currently operating under our Distance Learning Protocols.  We are fortunate to be able to continue your education through these means.  Please communicate with us if you are having technology issues or trouble with Canvas.

2.  Baseball raffle money is due by April 3rd. Please turn this into the high school office.  Please make sure your name is on your tickets so we can keep up with who sold each one.  The drawing will be April 6th.

3.  SENIORS - If you are planning to apply for the Dr. Dave Granville Scholarship, be sure to have your typed essay to [email protected] by Monday, April 6th.

After much consideration, we have decided to cancel our raffle.  We do not want to be another burden to our businesses at this time.  To everyone who volunteered to participate, we are so thankful for you.

If you have already turned in money, we will contact you on how we will return it to you.

Teacher of the Month

totm
Our Teacher of the Month for January 2020 is Ms. Claire Marquis.  Ms. Claire has been at Bayou for many years!  She is always ready to chair a committee, start a new project, or bring new technology to the classrooms.  Her level of enthusiasm is unmatched!  We have all watched her with her new 3D printer like a kid at Christmas!  She is the first one in line to bring new technology to our kids, and we are so grateful to have her hard-working spirit on our team!  Ms. Claire, thank you for your dedication to our school, our students, and our technology.  We are so thankful for what you continually do for our us. We appreciate you and all you do! Congratulations! ðŸŽ‰ðŸ’™ One family. One heartbeat. One Bayou Academy. #WeAre1 #BAtotm
