The SADD Club originally began as Students Against Drunk Driving, but it has evolved to encompass other choices teenagers make.  In turn, the name has changed to Students Against Destructive decisions.

     The Bayou Academy Chapter of SADD sponsors the Red Ribbon campaign in October---an event which gives teens an awareness of the problems related to the use of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs.  It encourages teens to lead a healthy drug-free lifestyle.  The Chapter also sponsored four “angels” at Christmas by wrapping toys and clothing for the children of inmates.  In addition, the SADD Club holds its main fundraiser on Valentine’s Day when Bayou students purchase Valentine’s Day cards and balloons for their classmates.
