Literature
Course Description: The program puts emphasis on the reading and appreciation of literature and offers features to help students become active readers.
Course Objectives: This class encourages the growth of skills to become an independent reader, the enhancement of vocabulary, and the development of appropriate skills in comprehension.
Language -
Course Description: Grammar is taught with a purpose of making clear to students the orderly structure of their language. The grammar is taught in a useful, practical way in conjunction with the composition and oral usage. The student sees how each word has a job, how words fit together to form sentences, how sentences fit together to form paragraphs, and how paragraphs fit together to make compositions.
Course Objectives: We will cover composition, grammar, and writing during this class.
Social Studies -
Course Description: New world history and geography is presented from a Christian perspective and provides a solid foundation of what man has done with the time God has given him.
Course Objectives: We begin with the greatest migration in history to the land the first Americans formed up into the 21st century. We learn of the importance and the impact on settling a land on religious principles.
Mathematics -
Course Description: To build competency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers, common fractions, decimals, probability, ratios, patters, and basic algebra.
Course Objectives: To display a sense of curiosity about numbers, patterns, and various techniques for solving math problems.
Science -
Course Description: The A Beka Book Curriculum consists of a 25-week study of Observing God’s World with a 9-week study of Choosing God Health. Above all other concepts, the textbook presents the world as the creation of God and glorifies Him.
Course Objectives: We will cover plants, invertebrates, earth, God’s great universe, space, matter, and chemistry during this course.
Electives:
Computer -
Course Description: The elementary students come to computer once a week. They play educational games in all areas.
Music -
Course Description: This class teaches musical concepts, skills, and knowledge to elementary students.
Course Objectives: This class encourages learning through music and helps students explore their opportunities in the arts.
Art -
Course Description- Lessons include line, shape, color, value, texture, and space in addition to sculpture (paper, box, etc.), poster designs, tie-dye, weaving, and hatik.
Course Objective- Art serves as a course in the principle of design- a basic introduction to art. A variety of tools and techniques are employed.
P.E. -
Course Description- The basic physical education involves routine stretches before strenuous physical exercise, a few laps around the gym, and athletic games to open the students to a healthy way of having fun.
Course Objective- Physical education serves as a way for students to learn the importance of exercise while simultaneously utilizing those exercise techniques for their own health and fun.
